Use the forms module with Populo
Building a richer understanding of your visitors in Populo is fundamental to creating a great experience. You’ll want to use the forms module to capture additional information that you may not currently know about your customers.
The forms module has been updated to allow capture of form data in Populo. By default the Populo service captures the data of all forms that are published in Contensis.

It’s possible to exclude a form from publishing its data to the Populo service by excluding it when editing a form.
- Open the form for editing
- Click Form settings tab in the forms builder panel
- Scroll to the bottom of the panel and check the checkbox to Exclude form data from Populo
- Submit and approve the form
How we use form fields in Populo
There are a number of form fields in the Contensis forms builder broken down into Standard, User Details and Advanced groupings. Data entered into a Contensis form field can be mapped to fields in Populo to be made available via the Contacts API.
The mappings are determined by the Field Type property set under Field Settings in the forms builder. We’ve setup some default mappings for the predefined fields in the forms builder to start capturing data in your existing forms.
Default mappings
Name |
Contact.Personal.Name |
Address |
Contact.Personal.Address |
Email |
Contact.Personal.Email |
Phone |
Contact.Personal.Phone |
It’s possible to change these mappings and we encourage you to review each of the forms used on your website to ensure you are capturing clean data
