Preview lets you see the content of responsive websites, exactly how they will appear to your visitors. You can easily see what your webpage will look like on a range of common device types: smart phones, feature phones, tablets, laptops, desktops and TVs – in both portrait and landscape modes.
Change device / viewport display
To see your content on the various devices, use the icons in the top toolbar. Pressing the icon for a second time will toggle the orientation of the viewport between landscape and portrait.
Change your default preview mode
When you preview a page from the editor (in Contensis R8.3 and up), responsive preview will be active by default. If you’d prefer not to use the responsive preview mode, you change this setting in your User Profile. If you are licensed for Populo, the personalisation preview is also determined by this setting.
Update your personal preferences
- Open your User Profile by pressing User Name on the top right of the toolbar.
- From the drop down, select User Profile.
- In the Account section set the type of preview you want to use from the dropdown list.
- Press Save.
Close responsive preview
If you are previewing a page, and want to temporarily see the page without the toolbar in the preview area, press the Close button at the end of the toolbar.
