Inline QA settings

Use the following settings to enable QA checking at page level and specify the standards required for page submission. This will force your editors to resolve QA issues themselves before submitting pages for authorisation.

  1. Navigate to the Management Console, click Project Overview, followed by Settings. The General Settings for Website list will appear.
  2. In the Name filter field, type QualityAssurance and click Enter.
  3. In the filtered list that appears, click to Edit a setting.
  4. Update the Current Project Settings value (using the values shown in the list below) and click Save.

Accessibility

QualityAssurance_SubmitAccessibilityLevelRequired

The accessibility setting allows you to override the global AccessibilityLevelRequired setting. The level of conformance for each WCAG 2.0 Web Content Accessibility Guideline is described as A (lowest), AA, and AAA (highest).

This setting sets the WCAG standard that the page must achieve before it can be submitted:

  • 0 = No accessibility check
  • 1 = WCAG 2.0 Level A
  • 2 = WCAG 2.0 Level AA
  • 3 = WCAG 2.0 Level AAA

Broken links

QualityAssurance_SubmitAllowBrokenLinks

The broken links setting will prevent any pages with broken links from being submitted for approval. The editor will have to correct them before the page can go through its workflow.

  • 0 = Don't allow broken links on submission
  • 1 = Allow broken links on submission

Spelling

QualityAssurance_SubmitAllowSpellingErrors

This spelling setting ensures that all words on the page are in the dictionary before being submitted for approval. Enabling this setting will force the page editor to correct the text before the page can proceed through the workflow.

We recommend enabling this setting once you have fine tuned your dictionary to your own particular environment so the dictionary will not flag up your commonly used - but organisation specific - words as errors.

  • 0 = Don't allow spelling errors on submission
  • 1 = Allow spelling errors on submission

Page performance

QualityAssurance_SubmitMaxPageSize

The page performance setting defines a limit on the page size allowed (excluding media and CSS) and will force the page editor to conform to the size restriction. A page has to be under this size before it can be submitted for approval.

The default value is 81920 bytes (80kb)

QualityAssurance_SubmitMaxSizeWithMediaAndCSS

This secondary page performance setting sets the maximum page size allowed (including media and CSS) and will force the page editor to conform to the overall size restriction before the page can proceed through the workflow.

The default value is 358400 bytes (350kb)

Enable QA

QualityAssurance_SubmitQualityCheckEnabled

The enable QA setting toggles all of the above settings on or off in one go. This can be useful for temporarily disabling the page level checks.

  • 0 = Quality checking disabled
  • 1 = Quality checking enabled
