QA exclusions

In this article, you will find out how to instruct the Crawl Manager to ignore areas of your site and prevent specific errors from being reported in QA scans.

Specify ignore rules

  1. Click Management Console in the Project Explorer.
  2. Scroll down and select Crawl Manager. The Crawl Manager window will open.
  3. Find the QA scan in the list that you want to amend and click Edit.
  4. In the top text field of the Exclusions box, specify rules to exclude areas of your site from the crawl (each rule should be on a separate line). Click Save.

Specify HTML or accessibility error code ignore rules

  1. Click Management Console in the Project Explorer.
  2. Scroll down and select Crawl Manager. The Crawl Manager window will open.
  3. Find the QA scan in the list that you want to amend and click Edit.
  4. In the bottom text field of the Exclusions box, specify HTML or accessibility rule codes to be ignored by the crawl (each rule is comma separated). Click Save.

The error codes have been split into two separate listings to make it easier to add ignore rules; HTML Compliance and Accessibility. The full list of HTML error message codes are available from the W3C Markup Validation Service.
