Embed a Vimeo video

This article takes you through the steps to inserting a Vimeo video into your pages or templates. We don't currently support embedding Vimeo videos through the Contensis video player, so instead we need to use their embed code and player for video playback.

Create an include file

The easiest way to embed a Vimeo video is by using an include file. You will need to create a new include file, in the appropriate folder. If there isn't currently a folder with the include file content type associated with it, you will need to add it in the folder settings.

Input the Vimeo embed code

  1. Locate the video that you would like to embed from Vimeo and select the paper aeroplane share button, you'll be provided with a share modal screen.
  2. Within the Embed area select Show options to configure how you'd like to display the player in your page e.g. dimensions and player colour.
  3. Copy and paste the embed code into the include file in Contensis and click Save.

Insert the include the file into your page

You will now be able to insert in the include file into your page where you want the video to be displayed. Simply drag and drop the include file into the placeholder where you would like the video to appear.

You will also be able to repeat this process for as many Vimeo videos as is needed for your pages.

Note:  You can only add include files in to pages where placeholders allow HTML snippets.
