Merge contacts
With so many website visitors using different devices it’s essential that we can bring together insight and behaviour of contacts whatever device they are using.
More than 40% of online adults sometimes begin an activity on one device and finish on another. This number increases with the amount of devices one owns: 53% of people who own two devices switch between them to complete tasks or activities, and 77% of people who have three devices do the same.

Merging contacts requires a common key between the each device, in the first version of Populo this can only be determined if a user is logged into a Contensis powered website. It’s likely this will be extended to also use email address in the future.
Where a contact is logged in to a website from different devices we merge together any captured logs and recalculate any values where necessary.
This enhances what we know about a contact and provides a richer understanding to be used in personalisation.
